Remotely Accessible Hardware Labs for Education and Research in Power Electronics, Power Systems, and Electric Drives
This virtual workshop presented compact, safe-voltage, remotely accessible laboratories developed for education and research in electric drives, power electronics, and power systems. Sessions connected the laboratory platforms to CUSP courses and demonstrated undergraduate, graduate, and pipeline-level experiments using Sciamble Workbench.
Objectives
Demonstrate extremely low-cost, digitally controlled laboratories that can be used locally or accessed remotely for electric-power education and research.
- Discuss the value and accessibility of the CUSP laboratory platforms.
- Show laboratory experiences for pipeline, undergraduate, and graduate courses.
- Demonstrate work in climate solutions, sustainable electricity, power electronics, electric drives, and power systems using PSS®E and Python.
